Today I wore my new mint green Sleeveless Luxe Tank from Banana Republic:

Necklace- NYLightMetals on Etsy.com
Skirt- Ann Taylor
Shoes- "Me Too" at DSW

I am really loving color right now! Especially when I can still mix it with black :)

Happy Thursday!

OOTD: Pink, White & Everything Bright

Today I wore my Banana Republic skirt (which, by the way, I may have to get in another color because I LOVE it) and a dress shirt from Forever 21:

 Skirt- Banana Republic
Shirt- Forever21
Shoes- Cynthia Vincent for Target

I used my Hot Tools 1 1/4 inch curling iron again today to create some loose waves (on second day hair):

It's nice for a change once in awhile. It didn't take me that long because I was kind of random about it and didn't try too hard to make perfect curls. I just tried to make sure the front pieces were nice.

BTW, to my lovely readers and commenters: Thank you to everyone who gave me advice when my skin went crazy from that acne cream. I ended up using a mixture of Eucerin cream and Aquaphor to heal the area and stop the peeling and now it's completely gone! Oh yeah, and CVS was awesome and let me exchange it for another product, which I'll talk more about once I've used it for awhile)

So I painted my toes white...with OPI's Alpine Snow which I used as a base for my nailpolish on my fingernails. It's different. I kind of like it. It's messy (I didn't get it done professionally) but from afar I think it's cute :)

I also wanted to show you lovely ladies this pretty headband from J.Crew that I won in a contest hosted by the lovely Erin at Strawberry Swing and other Things! Go check out her blog- she has amazing outfits, great fashion inspiration and much more!  I also got a cute little beach-inspired notepad :) Perfect, since I'm super type-A and always writing everything down and making lists!

Speaking of Banana Republic (above) tomorrow is BR Wednesday! If you've shopped there in the last month or so you should have gotten a special coupon that entitles you to a discount of 40% off of one full-priced item every Wednesday until the end of June, I believe.  What a great deal! 40% off is a significant discount and it definitely motivates me to get myself to the store mid-week, even if I have to brave lunch-hour or post-work traffic.

Have you been partaking in BR Wednesdays?

OOTD & Reflections on Bikram Yoga

Hello lovelies!

I'm sorry I don't have anything really exciting to post today. I was having some tummy issues today and I had to leave work because I just got really sick.  I am going to the doctor tomorrow to see what's up.

This week, I've done Bikram yoga twice. Yesterday was my second class and I enjoyed it a lot more than the first time because now I'm more familiar with the progression of how the class goes.  I'd like to become more and more consistent with my workouts...I notice when I'm working out I'm less stressed, less anxious and I sleep better. There are definitely as many mental benefits to working out as physical ones.Yoga especially gives you that sort of mind-clearing and calming feeling, which is exactly what I need.  I know feeling calm and being in a 105 degree room seems like an oxymoron, but there is something relaxing and soothing about the experience.

Once again, I'm bringing to you a basic black outfit of the day...with a little twist- flutter sleeves, of course!

Silk top- Forever 21; Pants- Express Editor Pants (wide waistband); Shoes- Aldo; Necklace- NYLightMetals on Etsy.com

Sunday is our first wedding anniversary...and as organized of a person as I am, I just did the edits to our wedding album...TODAY. I got so busy with work after the wedding that I just never had time to put it all together.  I can't wait until it gets printed!

My husband and I are going to the spa on Sunday together and getting massages. Oddly, neither one of us has ever gotten a professional massage. We've both been stressed and busy lately, so I think this will be wonderfully relaxing for us.

What are your weekend plans?

Veronika.

OOTD: Navy, Baby

I wore my Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges today. They are awesome, and actually very comfortable.

Here's today's ensemble:

Cardigan- Express (I wear this one A LOT); Silk Top w/ Hearts- Forever 21; Skirt- BCBG; Shoes- Cynthia Vincent for Target.

Do you wear wedges to work? Here in Texas it seems like everyone wears open-toed shoes once it's hot out.

Veronika.

Won: Misikko "Hana" Flat Iron, Walgreens PSA & OOTD

I have been a very lucky girl lately. I never win anything, but I guess my luck has changed because a couple of weeks ago I was the winner of a MISIKKO "hana" flat iron in a giveaway hosted by the gorgeous Tiffany over at Big Hair Bigger Lashes. Thank you Tiffany and MISIKKO for such a wonderful giveaway!

The best part? It's PINK!!!

It also came with this wonderful PINK travel case as well as a satin hair serum and a heat resistant mat that you can place your hot styling tools on!

I used it today really quickly just to run through a couple of pieces of my hair and it really worked well. I'm going to wait to give a full review until I can use it on freshly washed hair to style it.  I love that the flat iron has a temperature adjustment so you can choose how hot it is.  I also love how lightweight it is. It feels lighter than my CHI.  For comparison, here is the hana and the CHI side by side.

I just love how cute it is!  I think the travel pouch it came with will be extra handy too.  Thank you again for such a generous giveaway...and if you want to see some gorgeous makeup looks, including a gorgeous smokey eye, make sure to check out Tiffany's blog. More to come on this flatiron.

Today I stopped by at Walgreens after work because I needed to pick up a few things.  PSA to all: Walgreens is buy one get one half off on all L'Oreal and Neutrogena products.  I had to take advantage and get some of my staple products which included:

I picked up two cans of L'Oreal Sublime Bronze airbrush self tanner because it's about $10 a can, so when I can save on this I try to!

I picked up another bottle of my favorite moisturizer, Neutrogena for sensitive skin:

I like to buy on sale, so oftentimes my bathroom cabinets end up having a stock pile of products:

Oh how I heart self tanner!

I also took a risk and bought another Neutrogena product: the SPF 25 Eye Brightening Pen.  I refused to spend the money on the YSL Touche Eclat so thought this might be a nice $8.99 alternative.

I swatched it and it's more like a concealer than a highlighter, but I like it for the under-eye area (I used a bit under my eyes when I got home just to experiment with it.) I'll apply it on a fresh face tomorrow.

I really like the packaging of this product. I think it looks sleek and expensive. More to come on how I like this for the under-eye area.  I typically don't have dark circles but I do like to brighten the eye area because it really makes you look awake and fresh (especially in the morning when most of us need it!)

There is the product not rubbed in at all.

There it is with flash.

and rubbed in:

I also have an OOTD to share before I go. I think I wore this on Tuesday? All black...what I'm trying to get away from! LOL:

Skirt-Ann Taylor; Top-Costa Blanca; Cardigan- Express; Shoes- Michael Kors; Necklace- NYLightMetals on Etsy.

I will announce my contest winner tomorrow...probably in the later afternoon or evening.

xoxo,

Veronika.
