OOTD: Right on Target

Happy Thursday ladies!  I just got home from an intense workout---I've gone 4 days in a row and I am SORE.  I always just work through the soreness because when I take too many days off, the pain is worse, whereas if I work it out, it goes away faster.

Today I brought another colorful, printed dress out of my closet. It's from the Tucker for Target collection and I had forgotten how much I liked it (I bought it towards the end of last summer...so I didn't have that many chances to wear it.)
LOL---this is me leaving the house with my big gym bag in tow!

Dress- Tucker for Target
Shoes- Cynthia Vincent for Target
Cardigan- Express
Belt- Came on a dress from Papaya

I am really excited for a review I have coming up of a hairdryer I was sent.  It has changed my blow drying experience and I can't wait to share it with you---expect that next week :)  Here's how my blowout looked with the new hairdryer.

I also want to share with you a nail polish I got over the weekend. It's Sephora by OPI and it's called The Way Tutu His Heart and it's an opaque light pink. You need a good three coats, but I like the result a lot.

It's good if you like that real milky, opaque look. You can buy it here.

Lastly, have you seen the cover of the latest issue of Allure magazine? Lauren Conrad is on the cover and she looks STUNNING. Loving her beachy hair and smokey eyes.

HELLO Beautiful!
By the way, LC just launched a new website with her hairdresser and makeup artist---www.thebeautydepartment.com. Check it out!

I hope everyone has an incredible Friday. My husband is taking me on a date to see Water for Elephants.  I am really excited. I haven't read the book, but just after seeing the preview I knew I had to see it (plus, I just love Reese Witherspoon). Do you have any fun Friday plans? Let me know below!

OOTN: A Ruffly Floral Dress for a Date Night & La Roche Posay at CVS

Tonight my husband and I went out for dinner at P.F. Chang's (one of our faves!)  I decided to wear my Zara floral ruffle dress because it was SO hot out today (like 93 degrees) and I wanted to wear something feminine and summery.

I absolutely LOVE this dress.  It is one of my favorites out of all of the ones I own. This was my first time wearing it.

Dress- Zara; Open-faced cardigan- Charlotte Russe; Shoes- Cynthia Vincent for Target

Sigh. That dress is just so lovely.

After dinner we encountered a downpour (that's Houston for you- if you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes!) It was like a monsoon rain.

We also saw like 100 cyclists hiding under a gas station roof !!! I've never seen anything like it. They were all crowded there like sardines. I felt so bad for them.  I tried to get a shot...not a good one but you might get an idea if you enlarge it.

I also stopped at CVS because I heard they carry La Roche Posay products.  When I got there, there were only a few products on the shelves. I asked the manager if they had more and he came back with a cardboard box FULL of LRP products. I was glad they had them because I HATE ordering things online. Dear CVS, thank you for carrying these products, it has made my life so much easier.

I got my tried and true Effaclar face wash, a new acne spot treatment and the new Anthelios SPF 60 sunscreen:

La Roche Posay is the best skincare line I've ever encountered. It was orginally recommend to me by a dermatologist when I used to have severe cystic acne and I can't imagine what I'd do without their incredible products. The acne treatment is a new one for me as I usually use their Targeted Breakout Corrector (which is amazing) so I'll report back on it soon!

I think if you tend to break out, even once in awhile, you should use an acne product preventatively. This has been tremendously successful for me. Every night before bed I apply a thin layer of the acne treatment to my chin area where I used to have bad acne, just to make sure nothing flares up. I also dot Proactiv's Refining Mask on any areas where I either have a developing pimple or I think something might pop up there. This has helped my skin stay clear. Yes, I look like a weirdo before bed, but hey, clear skin is worth it!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  Tomorrow we are going out for my birthday, which is this Sunday, May the 30th!  I can't believe I'm going to be 27! This year has just flown by!

Oh and on Sunday, my girlfriend and I are seeing the new Sex and the City movie! Yay! What a perfect birthday weekend :)

ZAC POSEN & CYNTHIA VINCENT FORTARGET- It Was Written

Today my lovely mother in law and I decided to do a little shopping because I don't get to go to Kohls very often since I don't really have one near me. I wanted to check out Lauren Conrad's line while I was there.

Originally I was on the hunt for pretty summer dresses (work-appropriate), but I wasn't able to find any I really loved. I did however, pick up this pretty top for 30% off (LC by Lauren Conrad):

I really liked the zipper detailing and the pretty watercolor floral design.  The top is pretty over skinny jeans or tucked into a skirt.

We visited a few more stores and I wasn't very impressed...but then...we went to TARGET.  I had fully intended on not partaking in the ZAC POSEN/CYNTHIA VINCENT craze...but I succumbed to two items and one may have even been a "meant to be item."

I'll start with the Cynthia Vincent wedges.  I've seem them plastered all over every single magazine and blog and I loved them but thought "I've never owned brown shoes, so they must not be for me."  Well, fate had other things in mind.

My mother in law and I had searched the store far and wide and not one Cynthia Vincent shoe could be found. Finally at the end of one of the shoe aisles was a small display of 20 or so of those telltale bright yellow boxes...and sure enough there was the remainder of the CV for Target shoes.

.......and could you freaking believe it? There was ONE lonely pair of the wedges left....and they were in MY SIZE. It was a sign right?

So I tried them on. Still not convinced as I had not seen them in a mirror, I took them to the fitting room with me...and sigh...IT WAS LOVE.  Plus, I don't own even one pair of brown shoes (unless you count UGG boots) so the $29.99 wedges seemed a justifiable addition to my shoe collection.

Before I get to the fitting room photos, I also wanted to mention that I got the GORGEOUS and amazingly flattering Zac Posen for Target tuxedo skirt. Oh how I love it. I put it on and it was like a match made in heaven. Once again, the sizes are juniors and fit small. I got a 9 in the skirt. I wanted to be able to pull it down a bit on my hips so it didn't inch up to mini skirt territory (it is meant to be worn high-waisted, but I like how it looks the way I've got it on.)

This skirt is SUPER high quality and very expensive looking and feeling- the fabric is sort of heavier. I have to give a shout out to Anh over at 9 to 5 chic for raving about this skirt.

So you see!? I just had to get both the skirt and shoes. It was written

Have you ever found one amazing item left in YOUR size and just had to have it?
